On February 15, Alex and I are running the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run in memory of the loved ones we’ve lost to cancer. We’re joined by close friends as Team “Love Runs On – Miles That Matter.” Every mile carries a name, a story, and a reason to keep going. Alongside 26,000 runners, each of us has been touched, in one way or another, by this disease.

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 14 years since my dad, Kamal Afif, passed away from lung cancer. The shock of his diagnosis, his rapid decline in just three weeks, and losing him still stay with me.

Nearly 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. We run to raise funds, accelerate research, and bring us closer to cures.
