My friend Mel

I've taken part in the Cancer Research winter run 10k for the past two years, full of admiration for those running for loved ones.
This year I'm running and raising money for my dear friend Mel. It's been an awful year for them as a family, but I'm so proud of her. To see her "ring the bell" to mark the end of treatment was inspiring. We've shared hugs, tears, laughter and jaffa cakes and now it's time for me to be brave for her and ask for sponsorship, to raise money for cancer research to help other families like Mel's and to find a way to get cancer to clear off. Mel, you are so strong, beautiful, determined, funny, imaginative, creative, a fountain of gardening knowledge and a true inspiration. We love you x
