We're fundraising to beat cancer!
Hello lovely people,
We're Nyree and Jenny, midwives by trade, professionals at calm breathing and encouragement...and now apparently runners? Questionable decision making was involved.
This Sunday we're attempting the 10k Winter Run in the freezing cold, on legs that are far more used to standing by birthing pools than pounding pavements. Training has been optimistic. Confidence is high, fitness debatable.
Why are we doing this? Because cancer affects too many families, colleagues and good friends-and if running 10k helps raise money for life-saving research we'll complain loudly but do it anyway. We are fundraising late as we had the perfect get out clause, a client due to give birth. Unhelpfully she had her baby a week early so all excuses are gone.
Please donate, every pound helps, every mile will hurt. The crowdfunding for new knees and hips starts next week.
If we can deliver babies then 10k should be easy?!
