Winter Run 2026

My Activity Tracking

327
kms

My target 250 kms

Cancer is relentess. But so are we.

Reality check

So it turns out that a gnarly combination of work (putting on a big international conference at the start of December), travel, family and a nasty cold or flu in October meant I haven't run as much as I wanted to, especially in November and December.

Still, I'm getting out there and hope to at least beat my age-graded result, if not my time from my first 10km...

(I also added running activity by month from August and one single entry for January to July 2025, as who on earth has time to manually add every single run?!)

Apparently I'm doing this!

In February 2026, it'll be five years since I ran my first 10km and my only other Winter Run. I was still recovering from chemo and getting used to the ongoing endocrine treatment that has so far prevented a another recurrence. This time, I want to be faster and stronger!

Getting started / why am I doing this

You probably already know that 'nearly 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime'* - and that I'm one of them. (Twice, because why be average?)

You might also have a sense of how much research has improved outcomes for people diagnosed with cancer - it really, really does make a difference.

But there's still so much to learn so that everyone diagnosed with cancer has the best possible chance of not only surviving, but thriving through and after treatment.

More research means more lives saved, and treatments that take fewer good years from the lives of cancer survivors.

Here's the generic bit: Please donate to my page to help me raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK and support me as I train for a 10k on 15th February 2026.
