So on Sunday 25th Jan I got the train to Berkhamsted & ran my first ever 10km to get home!Distance!
I managed to get out the house on Boxing Day & again on 29th Dec. I missed 2 weeks training due to flu & a chest infection so these were runs purely to get out the house & do some running.Intro
As anyone who knows me will already know, I have never been a runner. I’ve always tried & failed to stick with it when it got remotely harder. I made progress earlier this year & managed my first non-stop 5km in Norfolk in May 2025. I was very proud of myself.
Then the hot weather came & holidays/events throughout the summer & so did the excuses to not run.
As many of you may know, I lost my Nan at the end of October after a battle with aggressive stomach cancer. We are all miss her very much.
I decided this with the kick up the bum I needed. I’ve wanted to set myself a challenge for a few years now, & this will definitely be a challenge for me! Training throughout the winter for a run that at the moment seems impossible to me.
But what better incentive than to raise money to help beat this horrid disease that affects so many people. That’s what will make it all worth it.
And I’m hoping as Nan loved butterflies so much, she might send me some wings to help me get to the finish line!
