In February 2027, I’ll be taking on the London Winter Run 10K to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

I’ve been pushing myself to take on new challenges and set meaningful goals. Running has been a large part of this, and whilst it hasn’t always been consistent, returning to it always gives me something positive to work towards.

I recently lost my granddad following complications from pancreatic cancer. He was incredibly proud of the person I was becoming, particularly of my sporting achievements. I know he would have loved to see me taking on another challenge like this, and being able to run in his memory makes it even more meaningful.

Sadly, cancer has affected many people close to me, across generations of my family and friends. I’ve witnessed the impact of pancreatic, breast, skin, blood and brain cancers, among others. I’ve seen the challenges of treatment, its lasting effects, and the heartbreak of losing loved ones. It’s something that affects not only those facing cancer, but everyone around them.

When I saw the opportunity to fundraise alongside a personal challenge, it felt like a meaningful way to do something positive for myself while also helping others.

I’ll be updating my fitness activity as I prepare for race day, with a personal goal of completing the 10K in 50 minutes or less!

My initial fundraising target is £250, but I’d love to go even further!
