Hello!

I moved to the UK May 2024 and, as a tropical girlie, would hit a low as winter set in. The gray, cold days make it harder to stay active, especially since most of my hobbies didn’t quite translate. So I decided to try something new: running.

I’m not a natural runner. I can barely finish 1K without walking (and hating the whole experience). But since moving, I’ve worked my way up to finishing a 5K in 31+ minutes. This 10K is my next milestone, and my small but deliberate act of resistance against the slump, and the mental fog that comes with it.

And more than a personal challenge, this 10K helps raise funds for Cancer Research UK to support life-saving research, better understanding, and future cures. If I’m going to push myself, no better way than for it to be in service of something bigger. To God be the glory 👆🏽
