Cancer is relentess. But so are we.

Why I'm Running This Winter

This winter, I’ll be taking on the Cancer Research Winter Run — not just as a physical challenge, but for a cause that’s deeply personal to me and my family.

Cancer has touched our lives in a way I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I lost my mum to this disease, and watching someone you love go through the pain, suffering, and loss of dignity that cancer can bring is heartbreaking beyond words. It’s a cruel illness, not only for the person affected, but for everyone who loves them.

What makes it even harder is knowing that with better resources, earlier detection, and stronger support, there’s a chance she — and so many others — might still be here today. Cancer doesn’t affect everyone equally either; certain groups are disproportionately impacted, and that inequality makes continued research and funding even more vital.

I’m doing this run to help give others something cancer took from us: time. More time with parents, partners, children, and friends. More birthdays, conversations, and ordinary moments that turn out to be everything.

This challenge is also a personal one for me. Training for this run is about looking after my own health — staying active, strong, and committed to a lifestyle that gives me the best chance of a long, healthy life. If I can turn that personal goal into something that helps others too, then every mile is worth it.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, you’ll be supporting life-saving research, better treatments, and the hope that fewer families will have to go through what ours did. You’ll be helping give people more time with the ones they love — and that means everything.

Thank you for reading, for supporting, and for helping me run for something that truly matters.

I am taking on the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 2026.

Please donate to my page to help me raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK and support me as I train for a 10k on 15th February 2026.

Nearly 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime*. All of us can support the research that will beat it.

Thank you for supporting me! Together we are beating cancer.
