Celebrating Sixty!
Getting older is a privilege!
To celebrate reaching my sixtieth year I decided to set myself a few challenges...first up the Cancer Research London Winter 10K!
My first experience of this event was as a bag carrier for my friend Pippa in 2023. I'd had surgery for Bowel Cancer 9 months earlier and was well on my way to a full recovery although figured my running days were behind me. For Pippa, a keen runner, this was the sort of thing she did regularly - for fun!
Little did we know that a few weeks later Pippa, many years young than me, would be diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer. It's not been an easy 3 years for Pippa but on 15th February we have a date at the Trafalgar Square Lions for the 2026 event!
I'm not promising I'll "run" the whole distance (I'll leave that to Will who I've roped in to tag along) but with the weather forecast predicting 6° and heavy rain a small donation to cheer us along would be a very welcome boost to help me complete the distance!
