Cancer is relentess. But so are we.

THANK YOU!!

Words can't explain how grateful I am for the support I've received in the build up to, and since the London Winter Run!

It's so touching to hear stories from people who are fighting their own fight against Cancer or know someone who is or has!

The day really was something special and to have made it round in as quick a time as I did, again, there are no words.

At the time of this message, I am still carrying a knee injury, however, must keep fighting the fight!

Thank you once again and good luck to each and everyone out there! You are truly amazing!

Almost Race Day!

With less than a week to go, training has been constant! A run every day, ranging from 1k to 10k and anything in between, even the little fella is getting in on the running action!

The support has been tremendous and humbling, times aren't easy and yet even simple words of encouragement make a difference!

So far, I've ran every day since 31st December and while there are many out there who run far greater distances, this has been a significant change for me and again, none of it possible without support!

Thank you!

In memory of Vicky, they really did break the mould with that one!

Training Ongoing

Last week saw the Newcastle 10k pass with a new Pb for the distance and while the course was mostly flat, it's a benchmark to aim for, although London is more undulating.

Daily runs are progressing, although the distances are relatively low due to life commitments - this will progress and increase!

Thank you for everyone supporting however they have done so far!

Daily Training

To make sure I don't overdo things, I'm running every day but on the quieter days, these are 1k days to try not to cause injury.

The weather appears to have taken a positive turn today and although my training hasn't stopped due to the snow, ice, wind or rain, it's nice to have slightly higher temperatures than those of a negative...

Newcastle 10k this weekend so hopefully setting the pace for London and the target to beat.

I will be increasing distance in preparation for the Middlesbrough and Great North Half Marathons, over the coming weeks too.

Cold Outside

Last night was another run in -2 temperatures with the little fella tagging on. He ran fantastically, 5k in sub-zero conditions, on snow and ice in 46 minutes!
Onwards we plough!

Longer Distances

Distance is there, need to focus on stamina and improving heart rate zones/breathing.

Getting out in the poorer conditions underfoot is helping with a 5k Parkrun in the snow then a 12k run in snowy conditions

2026 Has Started

With Parkruns being the base of weekly 5k training, these are already off to a good start with Pb's set on Christmas Day, Saturday and again New Years Day!

Bring on the longer runs!

Running In Memory of my Sister!

I am taking on the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 2026.

I'm running in memory of my Sister, Vicky, who sadly passed away October 2025, after a battle with Cancer! Her family & friends were so supportive throughout her fight, we would hope others don't have to go through what Vicky has, or her children, family & friends!

Please donate to my page to help me raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK and support me as I train for a 10k on 15th February 2026.

Nearly 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime*. All of us can support the research that will beat it.

Thank you for supporting me! Together we are beating cancer.
