Cancer is relentess. But so are we. 

My Journey

Why am I running Winter 10km and London Landmarks Half Marathon this year?? Apart from being mental and sucked into this world of running in 2024 by amazing friends and Parkrun community there is more to my story. 

In 2024 at 39 my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, thanks to cancer research she is here to tell her story and that is hers to tell. 
However 2025 cancer decided to kick our family again! My mum was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and my dad with prostate cancer. Between my sister and I also my amazing children, Alex and friends we have been able to support them both and ensure someone has been with them to all treatments. 
2026 see my dad on his road to recovery but my mum continues to face her battle to enjoy the time she has with us. 

So yes I’m crazy running person but my family deserve that crazy person to hope that no other family have to lose someone to cancer.

2026 Training

This is my first big race of 2026 raising as much as possibly for cancer research UK between Winter 10km and London Landmarks Half Marathon. These are big challenges for me but I know that everyone of my family members and friends who have faced cancer have had much greater challenges ahead of them as I have completing these races. 
First 9 days of January and training is going well. Please pop over to my TikTok Kats Journey to follow my training plan. Including my highs and lows over the next 4 months. 

I am taking on the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 2026.
