Running in Memory of Rob ❤️ – London Winter Run 2027

On 21st February 2027, I'll once again be taking on the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 10K. But this year, it means so much more to me.

In June 2026, we sadly lost my uncle Rob (Robert) to cancer at just 52 years old, leaving behind my Auntie Debbie and their beloved dog Penny.

Rob was a 6ft 6 Scotsman with an even bigger personality and a heart to match. He was a big kid at heart, always up for a laugh and never too grown up to join in with the children.

I have some lovely memories of visiting Scotland when I was younger, from days out on the farm and bike rides to a family trip to a theme park, which, believe it or not, was Rob's very first visit to one!

As the years went on, he became a firm favourite with his great nieces and nephews. Whether it was playing hide and seek (which isn't particularly easy when you're 6ft 6!) or sending us pictures of what his Christmas elf had been getting up to, he always found ways to make the children smile.

He was taken from us far too soon, and it's heartbreaking to think of all the memories that should still have been made.

This year, I'm running those 10 kilometres in Rob's memory.

I'm raising money for Cancer Research UK in the hope that one day, fewer families will have to experience the heartbreak of losing someone they love to this awful disease.
