Cancer is relentess. But so are we.

[17.02.2025] WE DID IT!!

On 15 February I crossed the finish line of the London Winter Run 10K - soaking wet and a bit tired… but very, very happy. 🙂❄️🏃‍♀️

This run has been about much more than ticking off 10 kilometres. It’s been about all of you - your donations, messages of encouragement, kind gestures, and the personal stories you chose to share with me along the way. I carried those stories with me on race day. I was also running in memory of loved ones in my own life who I’ve lost to cancer, and I held them close in my thoughts with every step. 💜

There were definitely some tough moments (like catching a cold just a few days before the run!), but knowing why I was doing this kept me going. Winter training and soggy trainers all felt worth it because together we’ve been supporting Cancer Research UK and the work they do to help people affected by cancer today and to help prevent cancer in the future.

A very special thank you as well to my friend Monika who travelled from Poland to run with me on the day - with the cold and everything going on I was hesitating until the last minute, and having her by my side made all the difference. 💜

I also know that many of you are juggling your own challenges, commitments and worries, which makes every single donation and message even more special. With company matching, your generosity will go even further - and I’m incredibly grateful for that. 🙏

THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of this with me. Your support really did keep me going on those dark, cold training days - and all the way to the finish line. 💜

[04.02.2026] THANK YOU!!

My biggest thank you for all your support – donations, messages of encouragement, kind gestures, and for sharing your stories with me. It means a lot. 💜

Biggest challenge so far? Last Sunday’s run in Poland (family visit): just over 4K in –12°C ❄️ It was tough, and I hesitated before going out, but I dressed properly and made it through. I didn’t want to push further - I need to stay healthy with the main event just 2 weeks away!

Knowing what this charity does makes every cold run feel worth it.

Cancer Research UK is one of the world’s leading cancer charities, dedicated to saving lives through research, campaigning and providing information. Over the last few decades, its pioneering work has helped to double cancer survival in the UK - and it continues to fund research and support people affected by cancer, here and around the world.

To give a sense of how your donations help in a very practical way, for example:

  • 🧤 Around £18 can buy a microscope micrometer, which scientists use to measure the size of tumours and learn more about how they grow.

  • 🧫 About £65 can pay for special chemicals called restriction enzymes that act like molecular scissors to cut up long strands of DNA in our cells.

  • 👩‍🔬 Roughly £110 can help fund a postdoctoral researcher in the lab for a day, developing their skills under the supervision of expert scientists.

  • 💉 Around £160 can buy a cell staining kit, helping scientists distinguish between different types of blood cells.

  • 🧪 About £350 can help fund an innovative trial for a week, improving and personalising treatment for children and young people with cancer.

  • 💬 And around £1,000 can fund Cancer Research UK’s online Cancer Chat service for a day, supporting thousands of people through very difficult times.

Every contribution, whatever the amount, really does make a difference - so thank you again for being part of this with me. 💜

[30.12.2025] It’s still cold (and wet) out there!!

…it is still better to run in the cold than in the heat!! 😉

Training is going steadily and well. I do my long run on Sundays, a short 2K speedy run on Wednesdays, and half of the Sunday distance on Fridays. It’s not just about the running, though - it’s also about the right food, the right clothing, and the right breaks in between the sessions. Fridays somehow feel the hardest - I guess I’m just tired after a long working week!

There are 5 weeks to go, and I’m feeling positive that I’ll build up to 10K just in time. Every message, donation, and kind word really does make a difference on those cold, dark training days. 💜

Thank you so much for all your support and words of encouragement - and for sharing your personal stories with me. I’ll be thinking of you, and carrying those stories with me, when I run. Thank you.

[06.11.2025] It's cold out there!!

Starting to run again - and in the cold! - hasn’t been easy. But training for a 10K to raise money for Cancer Research UK keeps me motivated. I am counting on your support and hoping that the disease which has taken too many of our loved ones, too early, will finally be stopped one day. Together we can make a difference. 💜

I’m at the 6K mark now. With just under six weeks to go, I will be working hard to get to 10K. I will keep you posted! 🏃‍♀️

[09.09.2025] I am taking on the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 2026.

Please donate to my page to help me raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK and support me as I train for a 10k on 15th February 2026.

Nearly 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime*. All of us can support the research that will beat it.

Thank you for supporting me! Together we are beating cancer.
